In January 2008, the Flemish Government recognised the Flemish Sign Language Centre as "knowledge and coordination centre for Flemish sign language". We hired two staff members to perform the following tasks with the help of a small group of VGTC volunteers:
- conduct research on the grammar of Flemish Sign Language
- report on the results of that research in video and other reports, lectures...
- act as information centre for the Flemish Sign Language Centre.
Both the volunteers and the staff members have studied several aspects of Flemish Sign Language:
